Course Overview

The Life Coaching Beginner/Intermediate course focuses on aspects of growing up, developing good habits, and creating a growth mindset. In this course, students will use the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective teens to learn life skills that will make their transition into young adulthood easier and give them confidence, decisiveness, and the ability to critique themselves in order to constantly evolve and grow. Students will work on their overall confidence by practicing public speaking, doing weekly exercises, and engaging in leadership challenges. This course is a mixture of health and wellness, academic competency, and leadership principles. After completing this course, students will be able to enroll in the Life Coaching Advanced course. Life Coaching Advanced includes more complex leadership concepts and principles meant to further develop your child into a future leader.

Textbooks

  • 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens Textbook and Workbook by Sean Covey
    In the book, Covey discusses how teenagers can become more independent and effective by following seven basic habits. The habits range from being proactive in every aspect of one's life to planning and prioritizing one's daily life and responsibilities
  • Point Avenue Daily Journal
    For this course, each student is required to maintain a journal that we supply them. Inside they are to keep track of daily goals, notable events, lessons learned, and things they are grateful for. The purpose of these journals is to measure effort in making personal growth intentional, as well as to teach students daily self-reflection in order for them to improve and grow their perspectives.
